Since the spring of 2003, the Woodpile's collaborative artistic history has been consistent and prolific. The collective's
pieces can be found both in conventional gallery settings, and as unexpected public 'artdrops'.
Sifting influence from the traditional and contemporary arts, abstraction and decomposition, island environment and urban conflict, the Woodpile create works that are inconceivable yet strangely familiar.
The process of their collaboration is freeflowing and always open to one anothers re-interpretation. As they step up to the canvas they paint as one. Six hands and three minds processing one anothers marks and working in the moment, the painting unfolds like a conversation between friends. This process is rooted at the core of the Woodpile and all it's creative endeavors.
Founding members Shawn O'Keefe, Blythe Hailey, and Sean McLaughlin reside in Victoria B.C. Canada.

News
Woodpile ArtDrop Found in Joshua Tree.
Friends of the Woodpile, Tyson & Cloe ( Driven to Sustain ) placed a WP ArtDrop in Joshua Tree National Park California just before Christmas. To our surprise we received an email from a Finder. The letter is below.
Dear Shawn, Blythe & Sean, "Underlifted" found a home in the Northshore of Boston, Massachusets! We are a French family (from France) that spent a wonderful Christmas vacation hiking in the Joshua Tree National Park California. We found the artwork in the Cottonwoods Oasis when we were looking for Indian mortars! It was a wonderful surprise, wonderful discovery, wonderful idea! We are all artists in the family -musicians- and we really appreciate this kind of sharing. We and our two daughters will keep thia artwork as a wonderful American memory.
Have a very creative and hopeful year! Take Care, Best,
LC & Family.
